Nice guys finish first I have written about something similar in an earlier article on altruism. At the moment social psychology is undergoing a paradigm shift. We used to believe that humans were essentially egoistic and driven by self interest for helping behavior. Now we open up for the possibility that we are altruistic and cooperative by nature. The "survival of the nicest", so to speak. David Brooks, the author of the column, has come out with a new book. It is called The social animal.
